Whiting & Davis started in 1876 as Wade, Davis & Co. in Plainville, MA, making jewelry, but transformed when Charles Whiting designed the first mesh handbag in 1892, leading to mechanization in 1912, and iconic status as a top mesh bag and jewelry maker for flappers, Hollywood, and fashion history for nearly 150 years.
This is a small envelope style clutch purse with a rhinestone clasp that bends to reveal a grommet that fits over a bar to close (see video)
Fully lined in a cream fabric with an interior pocket. Made in the USA
I have not cleaned this beyond a quick wipe. There is tarnishing on the metal, it could definitely use a real polishing. All rhinestones are intact. Please see photosx
