Large box with an inner box in lacquered wood with mother of pearl intarsia.
The box is from Korea where this tradition of sculpted box has existed for along time. The box is made of black lacquered wood with the inside red lacquered. On the lid is the image of flying cranes over a landscape; The inner box has also an inlay and all sides of the lower part of the box. The quality of the work is extremely high. The box is 13" x 10.5" x 3.5" or (35 cm x 29 cm x 9 cm) ; The box maybe from the beginning of the 20 th century or older. It is in very good condition, never used, and comes with a sturdy box with fabric to protect it.
