Estate sale find quite awhile back. It is a very interesting piece. I think it may be Scandinavian or from the British Isles. I’ve researched and cannot find out much about this. It is 3” in diameter and made of brass. It has a vintage style c-clasp welded to the brooch and has a flattened pin.
I believe this is for fastening heavy shawls or scarves. The front has kind of a “Mandala” look to it. The center looks like four asps, but that’s only my take. Someone else who knows more about this type of jewelry might describe it differently.
I believe I see a very tiny makers mark below the pin and above the semi-circle where it’s welded on.
