Rare and beautiful eggshell porcelain teacup and saucer from Japan. Belonged to my grandma so it dates to about the 1930s. It’s called eggshell due to the translucent nature of the porcelain (see photo against the light).
Cup and saucer was handpainted and with gold gilded trims. Both rims of cup and its base have a unique mild ruffle to them. Very mild wear of gold trim and one tiny flea bite chip as shown in last photo
