This is a very niche book. Breeding of the giant stag beetle (Dorcus hopei) was popular at one time (and maybe still is?), and this book explains how to raise them to a large size. It explains that the larvae become adults when the accumulated temperature of their environment exceeds a certain value, so the key is to lower the temperature as much as possible to prolong the larval stage and have them eat as much food as possible. I was surprised to find that a science question on a past entrance exam for Nada Junior High School used this theory.
