The Squids 3791 Locking Collar with Tool Attachment Point installs onto connecting, sleever and wrecking bars to create a retrofit attachment point for tethering tools up to 7 lbs, preventing dropped or falling objects from occurring on the job. Connection points for tool lanyards can be tricky to find, especially on connecting, sleever and wrecking bars with no captive holes. While working at heights, it is important to tether tools as part of your overall fall protection plan, but the lack of these connection points can make that difficult. To install, slide the locking collar onto a connecting, sleever or wrecking bar and use the included hex key to tighten the dual set screws to secure into place. Built with strong galvanized steel, this durable locking collar is corrosion-resistant in extreme environments. The locking collar allows the bar to be safely holstered by providing a catchpoint when stored on a tool belt and when working at heights. The collar features a swiveling connection point in the middle for tethering and prevents tangles and binds when used with a lanyard. This tool attachment portion of the locking collar can be removed and the tool collar can be used solely for proper holstering. This tool tether attachment is built to withstand defined weight limits and can easily be used by any worker to help avoid accidentally dropping objects that could cause damage, injuries or possibly death. Ideal for those working the iron/steel trades and tethering tools in construction, telecommunications, oil and gas, power generation, utilities, wind energy, manufacturing or other jobsites where dropped objects are a risk. This locking collar is compatible with straight-shafted round or hex connecting, sleever and wrecking bars ranging from 0.75” and 0.88". Each size comes with one locking collar and a hex key for installation.
