Rare (circa 1810-20) Spode Bone China Large Plate or Dish in the "Doll House" (488) pattern. The rust and cobalt enamels on the crisp white bone china body made this pattern popular with its slight en vogue chinoiserie feel, as well as a clean and not overly garish English touch. Often copied by many of Spode's contemporaries, this piece with its scalloped edge and all of its handpainted decoration is simply lovely! This bowl measures 10 inches wide and is in excellent condition. The gilt edge is intact and overall the decoration only shows a bit of wear. This bowl would be ideal gift for the early Spode bone china enthusiast!
