This is a catalog from the year following the release of the OM10 in 1979, the OM20 in 1982, the OM4 in 1983, and the OM2 in 1984, with new models released almost every year. Kumiko Oba was the image character for the OM10, and the TV commercial featured the line, "Instead of saying I like you, I pressed the shutter."

Personally, I was a Canon person when it came to cameras, so I have no purchase history of Olympus products, but I liked the logo and a friend used one.

More than anything, I have a strong image of Olympus as a dominant company in "endoscopes." As an aside, they actually hold the number one world share, followed by Fujifilm (officially, the "I" is capitalized), and Pentax in third place (these three companies hold 90% of the world share, with Olympus accounting for 70% of that). My workplace also uses Olympus endoscopes.
