• THE IDEAL STARTER KIT FOR GROWING ON LOGS: These inoclualtion kits were designed with everything you need to start growing your own gourmet and medicinal mushrooms on logs! Each kit contains 1lb of log sealing wax, 4 wax applicators, 100 ct plug spawn of three species, 5/16" drill bit, and instruction guide. (Mushroom plugs work best for small to medium log inoculation projects. 100 count packs are usually enough for 1-2 logs.)

• LOG COLONIZATION: Be patient! Growing on logs takes time. Depending on the species, it will take at approximately 12 months for the log to fully colonize. Most mushrooms will fruit in the spring, summer, or sometimes in the fall when temps are cooler.
• STORING PLUG SPAWN: If you don't plan to use immediately, you can refrigerate your spawn for up to 6 months.
• THAT’S NOT MOLD, IT’S MYCELIUM: Your kit includes plug spawn colonized with mushroom mycelium. It may appear covered with a soft, white, mold-like substance - that's the mushroom mycelium! It is completely normal. The mycelium of some species is more prominent than others.
