Working with the same producer and arranger, the follow-up album, 1986 's Forbidden Lover was recorded in Los Angeles; the title track - a soulful duet with singer Carl Anderson - received airplay at R&B stations in the U.S., giving Nancy her first best-selling album (#8 on Billboard's Jazz charts). Other key cuts include a second duet with Anderson ('Too Good to Be True') and a superlative version of Leon Russell's 'A Song for You.'
