The 32 year old emcee/poet/producer/novelist, M. A. Norris or 'Mr. Fluid' (aka Verbal of Company Of Strangaz), born and raised in MS where he currently lives, has self-published two books of poetry: Looking for Jesus Outside the Church (1999) and Mind-on Collision (2001), released two Hip Hop albums with Company of Strangaz: New Day (2006) and Vitaminz (2008), appeared on several mixtapes and radio programs, opened for world famous Hip Hop acts (Supernatural, Binary Star, Spice 1, ...) and Drum N Bass deejays (A-Sides, DJ Wally, Burner Brothers, DJ Odi, ...), and has recently released a solo album entitled Magnolia Magnificent (2013) under the alias Mr. Fluid, entirely self-produced. Norris has performed on stage since 1999, is part of the Drum-N-Bass crew Tightstep Concept, which includes 360 Degrees and DJ RePercussion, and has been writing poetry and music since 1993 as well as currently working on a novel. The solo debut, Magnolia Magnificent, is Boom Bap at it's core while allowing the influence of many styles to color it's sound including Dirty South Rap, Reggae, and Jazz. It's sample-heavy, thick with drums, and topped off with lyrics from someone who could've only grew up listening to KRS-One, Beastie Boys, and UGK simultaneously.
