This stunning alabaster hand carved figure is a beautifully crafted altar/shrine/statue. Carved by Italian craftsmen, it could be a Monk or even Moses.; either way, it is beautiful. I understand it to be a Mid Century piece, made around 1960s.
No chips or cracks, but definite age and wear is consistent with that. There is a bit of a divot in the bottom of the statue (see picture), however its not able to be seen and has no bearing on the quality of the piece.
This is a heavy, solid piece of lovely art.
