A collection of works by Kiyoshi Takeyama + Design Organization Amorph, the first in about 15 years.
※ "Design Organization Amorph" was founded in 1979 by Kiyoshi Takeyama and other members who were attending graduate school at the University of Tokyo. Published on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the architectural firm's registration, this book focuses on three "forms" that have emerged in recent years after a long period of design activity.
Featuring 15 works categorized by their respective systems, including the free, smooth, and curved "Shinjuku Rurikoin Byakurenge-do," the two multifaceted buildings that enclose the courtyard of the "AGIRLS Headquarters Building," and the "Panefri Kogyo Headquarters Building" with a gate-shaped plaza under an office floating in the sky. The composition reveals the intentions behind the "forms."
※ Furthermore, double-tone printing, often used in photo books, reduces the architecture to a profound monochrome world. From the pages where light and shadow, presence and absence, Eros and Thanatos clash, we approach another aspect of Amorph's works.
