The history of LSP jewelry company began nearly 90 years ago in Massachusetts. Founded by Henry & Lester Peterson “L.S. Peterson Co Inc” began its activity in the late 1930s. The Navajo silversmiths under their employ created the jewelry from the company’s designs.
The shop designed the jewelry that was then made by Native American employees. The created jewelry from silver & gold using natural stones – moss agate, turquoise, tiger’s eye, quartz, hematite & others. The marking on the back side of each piece includes initials “LSP Co” and “sterling” or gold purity. The local Navajo silversmiths hired by the company worked in accordance with the creative traditions of Native Americans.
