I believe this is a type of clay the maker hand carved and shaped an image of a woman and child onto.
Photos 1,6 and 7 most accurately reflect the true coloring of this piece. The other photos were with flash.
I’ve seen an artist in Las Vegas on Fremont that was making these for people as they sat and posed. Don’t get it twisted …they sat there for a while!! I do not recall the amount he charged but it wasn’t insignificant. This take great skill, time and patience. Beautiful work!
This piece has AUSTRALIA printed on back side. There is a piece of tape that has “For Sean”. 5.25”D and .50” off surface.
There is a small wire built into back for hanging.
