This selvedge denim uses American cotton to achieve the rough texture of authentic denim and is pure indigo-dyed, raw denim. Raw denim, as the name "生機" (ki-bata) suggests, is made into a product in its woven state (usually, products go through several processes), so it has a rough, stiff feel. It takes time for the color to fade, and it's not a gentle material, but because of that, it's an authentic work material that allows you to enjoy the changes in appearance and affection for a long time. It's been one-washed to reduce shrinkage and twisting. Woven on old-style power looms, it conforms to the body the more you wear it. (Excerpt from blog)
