Antique Sandwich Tray and 6 Plates This antique sandwich set, which includes a sandwich tray and six sandwich plates, has no identifying marks. It is of a medium quality, certainly not the best as there are a number of pock marks, pinholes and dirt in the glaze. The design is an on-glaze transfer with hand-painted gold accents to the edge. The sandwich plates don’t sit as flat as I would expect. One is certainly distorted enough to wobble. I wonder whether these were seconds bought from a market stall or sold by the manufacturer. I haven’t been able to identify the design in any way. All this being said, it’s actually a nice set. It’s in great condition. There’s only one plate that has a small chip.
