Such folding scholar eyeglasses were used during the Qing dynasty by literati and high-status gentlemen to protect eyes from glare while reading or traveling outdoors. The coin-shaped terminals symbolized wealth and wisdom. Comparable examples are held in Asian art collections and occasionally appear in museum-grade auctions.

Brass frame with dark tinted glass lenses
Fully folding structure (bridge + side hinges)
Temple ends shaped like Chinese coin motifs with four-hole pattern
Fine engraved bridge with geometric and floral details
Original patina consistent with age, no modern reproduction marks

approx.:
Lens diameter: 59 mm Bridge width: 17 mm Temple length (unfolded): 165 mm

Very good antique condition for age. Brass shows oxidation and surface patina; hinge joints operate properly though with some age stiffness; lenses retain deep tint with scattered light wear. Sold as a collectible display piece—optical accuracy not guaranteed.
