Limited edition of on purple coloured 140-gram audiophile vinyl. A Guy Called Gerald was at the heart of the UK's acid house explosion in 1988 with the groundbreaking Voodoo Ray, a track that not only dominated charts but helped define a generation of dance music. Later that same year, he returned with another standout 12", this time collaborating with production outfit T-Coy and the iconic Mike Pickering, resident DJ at the legendary Haçienda. The result was Dream 17, released under the project name Annette. While not quite as commercially celebrated as Voodoo Ray, Dream 17 is a cult classic - a rich synthesis of Madchester's euphoric rave energy and the raw, jackin' grooves born in Chicago's underground clubs. With emotive vocals, skittering drum patterns, and a hypnotic 303 bassline, this track captures the unfiltered spirit of the Second Summer of Love. Far from a nostalgia trip, Dream 17 bridges eras - honoring the roots of house while sounding as vital and forward-thinking today as it did on release.
