In original shrinkwrap that has been left on the slipcase but opened at the side to access the books. The books have very faint soiling but are tight with solid hinges and good tips. The textblock is clean with no writing, bookplate, or markings and not BCE, ex-library, or remaindered. No dust jackets, as issued. 40 and 44 pages. 6¼ x 9½" tall.
“25 Cats” is an homage to the 26 cats that lived with Warhol and his mother in their New York townhouse, all of which were named Sam (except for one, named Hester). The second volume, “Holy Cats,” was written and illustrated solely by Julia as a tribute to her beloved Hester.
Facsimile editions of the two books were published as a box set a few months after Warhol's death in 1987, this being the first U.K. edition published a year later.
