This crew neck sweatshirt is made with a heavy fleece back brushed fabric using a 10-count yarn (middle yarn 30-count, back yarn 8-count) which is not typically used for the surface yarn.
The fabric is densely woven and finished at a high temperature in a vintage kettle, which is rarely seen these days.
Although it is a fleece back brushed fabric, the brushing is not very deep, unlike the kind you often see in used sweatshirts where it's hard to tell if it's brushed or not.
