1/24 Renault 5 Turbo Rally
The Renault 5 Turbo was a special version of the inimitable 5, developed for rally races.
With a 1.4-liter inline-4 turbo engine in place of the rear seats the Turbo had a midship setup and was equipped with reinforced 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension.
Its 3-door hatchback body used lightweight aluminum and plastic panels across the board, and with bulging overfenders, integrated bumper air dam skirts and a roof spoiler, its appearance was a significant departure from the original Renault 5.
The works car won the first global rally of 1981 and was a familiar sight near the top of timesheets thereafter.
This kit captures the sporty form of the Renault 5 with its bulging fenders and rear spoiler, plus quad spotlights and roll cage is captured in style. Features a realistic depiction of the torsion bar front suspension adds life to the underside of the model.
Decals depict sponsor logos, number, rear windshield lines and more. Slick tires are solid synthetic rubber.
Includes a driver and navigator figures.
